Drink and Be Married: Choosing the Right Bar for Your Wedding and Budget

Saturday, September 15th, 2007

By Terrica Skaggs Wanting your guests to drink and be merry may take a huge chunk out of your budget. When choosing a bar, there are several things to consider. For example, how many guests are you having? What type of reception will you have? What time will it take place? Look at your guest listhow many drinkers are there? What kind are theythe occasional glass of wine with dinner or the top shelf connoisseur? You have several choices: 1. Open Bar 2. Limited Bar 3. Juice, Soda and Coffee bar And within those choices are several other options you could use to personalize your event. With an open bar, the possibilities are endless. Sadly, the same could be said about the bar tab at the end of the night. You could choose to limit your bar instead, in whichever way you deem fit. Opting for a limited bar allows your guests to choose from a selection that you have chosen with your caterer. Is it necessary to have brand liquor? Are mixed drinks a non-negotiable? With this option, you can choose what alcohol is in your bar. If you have a hard time saying no to people, you could let someone do it for you. You could have an extensive selection of alcohol but limit guests to a certain number of drinks. I always recommend the former, as the latter may cause some disdain during your fte. You could also limit the times that your bar(s) are open. For example, keep your bar open during the cocktail hour, dinner and the toast. During your cocktail hour, have extra waiters pass drinks on trays instead of guests going to the bar. This will lower consumption among the guests. Shut down your bar early in the evening to not only save money but overconsumption and driving. If your caterer is agreeable, check into bringing your liquor. While you may get hit with the inevitable corking fee, but the advantages are that not only can you shop around for the least expensive prices, but you can return the unused bottles for a refund or keep them for yourselves. Another thing that I absolutely love at weddings is the Signature Drink. Take into consideration your overall themeits colors, its meaning, etc. Have a drink that is a culmination of all those things. For example, if yours is a country wedding, fully equipped apples and gingham, make yours a green apple sour with real apple slices. Perhaps it is a tropical weddingserve Blue Hawaiians garnished with fresh pineapple and rimmed with coconut. Look for great combinations at sites like www.idrink.com. With the money you save from only serving the alcohol used to make your drink, you will have enough to rent opulent glasses for the first round. Whatever you do, avoid going the cash bar route. You risk offending your guests by having one. Typically, guests do not bring cash to weddings, and why should they? They just spent money on travel, clothes and a gift! They are there to celebrate with you. Asking them to pay for drinks is like them sending your wedding present C.O.D. Avoid it at all costs. Bottoms Up! Mobile Phone Messaging: A Technological Souvenir

Thursday, September 13th, 2007

By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Jenifer_Paul]Jenifer Paul Instant messengers are very popular on computers. With the mobile technology advancement, it is possible to connect your mobile phone to yahoo messenger and MSN. Java enabled mobile devices and Internet has made mobile phone messaging a reality. Small screen of mobile phone is a problem because it is difficult to type in message s very fast. Nevertheless, there are mobile phones with large screens and QWERTY keypads. To avail Internet facility, you will be charged by your service provider for the Internet usage on your mobile. Software called Agile Messenger is used for establishing the connection and is not a freeware anymore. So, you have to shell out from your wallet to install it. Most of the new mobile phones are available with built in chat client based on the wireless village technology (often called OMA IMPS). It is known as My Friends on Sony Ericsson phones, My Presence on Nokia AND IM on Motorola Phones. The major drawback is that the phone has to be connected to the server every now and then get the new status of online contacts. That is the reason the messages are not instant. Jabber technology is around for sometime, this allows users to contact to multiple instant messenger networks simultaneously. Like other networks, it consists of a client and a server. The server stores the usernames and passwords for all networks. You can login to the server as a jabber client. E-messenger is the most popular method used for messaging. No java support or anything else is required. You only need a phone that support mobile internet. This service is available on their official website. There are commercial solutions too. But it is recommended to use free methods of chatting on mobile because you will never get the same experience as you get on a computer. Mobile phone messaging is an integral part of our life a true technological souvenir. Internet Dating - Your Digital Online Dating Hookup

Tuesday, September 11th, 2007

By Richard Keir It’s a funny world we live. Yesterday I asked a friend whether she’d ever think about - or actually try - internet dating as an alternative to wasting so much time in single’s bars every weekend. She looked at like I was from some other planet and just asked if I would try it. When I said yes. She looked at me like I was from some even stranger place. To her, internet dating is for the way too desperate who are too insecure to face real people in a bar. OK, true, a few years ago online dating was a kind of social taboo. And you do need to use your head even now. But dating online has changed the dating scene all over the world. Face it, if you’re a working adult (and who isn’t these days), you may not have a lot of interest in going through all the bs and games that seems to be built into the meat market singles bar scene. You may want a more straightforward approach to finding someone compatible who you can truly love (and vice versa). If you’re tired of the old time traditional approach, you may want to take a serious look at internet dating. You may not be really aware of it, but the predecessor to online dating was actual putting personal ads in newspapers. And it did carry a big stigma. But let me share a true story. Once upon a time, I checked out a personal ad in a local alternative newspaper. It was an interesting experience. We knew almost nothing about each other - not even what we each looked like. She was very well educated, but we had, unfortunately, nothing in common. One of the advantages of internet dating is that you can learn much more about each other before committing to actually meet. In the those days, people seemed to believe that anyone who put a personal ad in a newspaper was a) terminally ugly, b) terminally desperate, or c) totally psycho. Now look what’s happened. Time has passed, technology has advanced and there are probably thousands of online dating sites. So while it is more socially acceptable, dating online still carries a kind of negative response and suppressed snickers from those who just don’t get it. look at some of the potential benefits: 1) It can be safe When you go through an internet dating site, you remain anonymous until you decide to provide more details. None of your specific personal contact details will be handed out unless you decide to give it out. 2) You have significant security If an online courtship has gone seriously awry or gotten all weird, or if the person you are talking to has turned out to be something way different then advertised, just drop him or her. And if they won’t get let go, go ahead and flag them - report them to site webmaster. Kazaam, they’re gone. Since they don’t have a clue how to find you, you’re safe. 3) Cheaper than a bar, for sure - it’s free - Free is pretty good, right? Most online dating sites will allow you to sign up and log on, without a fee. Is that better than wasting money on buying somebody drinks? 4) Choice - lots of choice - This one factor is incredible. We’re talking single’s heaven, here. You think a single’s bar is crowded on Friday night? You’ll be blown away by the number of singles signed up and looking for love on the internet. Say you are incredibly lucky and you find 2, maybe even 3 possibles in a singles bar. On line you could well find a hundred. Even a thousand or more to choose from. ? 5) It saves you money and time - the traditional approach is a little limiting unless you have wads of cash to blow on drinks, dinners, movies and are lucky too. Or, if you aren’t the one paying, you’re still investing time - and time is all any of us really have. Fairly often, in the end, all the time and money spent leaves you just where you started. Going back to the bar. Again. But with internet dating, you can date more than one person at time without investing a lot of money or time. Don’t you think that could really boost your chances of making the right connection, the one you’re looking for? 6) And what about rejection - it’s gone - Have you ever introduced yourself to a girl or meet a guy and thought, this is great. Only to get dumped on or shut down nearly immediately. It’s happened to everyone. And it’s one of the things we all fear. Rejection. On the internet, you make contact via email and it’s a lot less painful if the response is negative. I mean, who cares, there are another thousand out there. 7) Oddly enough in internet dating honesty really is the best policy - Unlike traditional dating where you’re all running around trying to impress each other. Slinging lines and posing, on the internet being real works a whole better. Online dating works best when both parties are honest. Sure you need to know how to talk with people, but if you construct your profile by being honest and you interact the same way, then there’s no reason for a lot of foolish fakery and hiding out. You can be who you really are and you can find people who respond to the real you. Sure, nothing is certain in life. You can get burned in internet dating too. But you have a lot more alternatives, a lot more choices and a lot of ways to find out whether you really want to go ahead and get in direct contact with someone. This is an area where technology is bringing new and better possibilities into our lives. Don’t be shy - check it out. Lawn Maintenance in Fall

Monday, September 10th, 2007

By Hans Dekker Lawn Maintenance in Fall The harsh conditions of winter can inflict a lot of damage on your lawn. In order to protect your lawn as much as possible during the winter months you should be prepared to do some regular lawn maintenance every fall. Try to keep your lawn as free as possible from falling leaves. Although the rotting leaves can add nutrients to the soil, they also prevent sunshine from reaching the grass, and this can cause the grass to die off before the winter snows arrive. Raking leaves every couple of days as they are falling off the trees has the dual benefit of exposing the grass to as much sunshine as possible and aerating the soil by the action of the raking. The lawn should be fertilized before the cold weather, and natural fertilizer produced by composting is the best type of fertilizer you can provide. Compost can be made from kitchen scraps and garden cuttings, and the leaves that you are raking from the lawn can also be added. Try not to cut the lawn too often in the fall — once every three or four weeks is sufficient. After each cutting, spread a thin layer of compost over the soil. The compost will fertilize the soil as well as providing a layer of mulch to keep the soil moist. If your lawn has a problem with weeds, fall is a good time to treat it. Apply herbicides to weeds as needed or dig them up manually if there are not too many. Other lawn problems such as thatch can also be dealt with in the fall. If your lawn receives a lot of traffic during the summertime the soil can become compacted which leads to insufficient aeration in the soil. This situation can be corrected in the fall by a using a machine called an aerator. They are available at rental yards or hardware stores. Finally, make sure your lawn has sufficient moisture throughout the wintertime. If you live in a climate which has freezing weather all winter, water the lawn well before the first frost. Even though the lawn is dormant throughout the wintertime, it is still alive and needs a supply of moisture to survive. Using Asset Protection

Monday, September 10th, 2007

By Leon Chaddock Asset protection is a means for protecting your valuables from future lawsuits and creditor collection attempts. While many people are looking for a solid way to do this, there are many ways in which they can stumble down this wrong mistakenly. For many, the options that are presented to them are not, by any means, going to work. But, there are asset protection opportunities out there that really do work. The goal is to search out the right ones and make proper use of them. Asset protection is something that many should take advantage of no matter what. Asset protection can be done in different ways. One such way is through Family Limited Partnerships and Trusts. These are effective ways of protecting assets. But, the problem arises when any assets are taken out. Then you can be back to where you started with judgment creditors reaching them nonetheless. In other words, your assets are still exposed and can be, therefore, attacked by the lawyers against you. One of the largest mistakes that people make when it comes to asset protection is believing that putting assets in their spouses name or the names of their children can help them to protect them more so. This by all means does not work. This type of asset protection is worthless as sweeps will happen and this information can be easily found. One type of asset protection that does work and works well is offshore asset protection trust or APT. In this case, the assets are protected from lawsuits because they are in oversea territories and therefore untouchable in most cases. Of course, it is important to take note of applicable fraudulent transfer rules as well. Asset protection is offered by many companies. If you are looking for an option that fits your needs the best, make sure that you take the time to sort out the way in which it works and finding the right location for your assets. Asset protection is a fundamentally important aspect that deserves careful protection. for more information please see http://www.asset-protection-help.co.uk Article Source: http://EzineArticles.com/?expert=Leon_Chaddock http://EzineArticles.com/?Using-Asset-Protection&id=84097 family before incest get pics would hep too atlas most phy while duke another edu it incest some cartoons take comics where daughters had become each mothers the incest because photos are ilug such historical said archive still re to ilug way incest it collections his

Breast Implant Augmentation: Capsular Contracture Of The Breast Implant

Sunday, September 9th, 2007

By Polly Summer Capsular Contracture - What Is It? Capsular Contracture is the most common breast augmentation complication. It is scar tissue from the breast implant surgery forming and hardening around the implant. This causes the implant to tighten as it is squeezed by the scar tissue. It is an unpredictable complication and causes the breasts to harden. Preventing Capsular Contracture Use Textured Implants. Textured implants help to minimise the risk of contracture as their surface deters a hard capsule from forming. Under The Muscle Implants. Placing the implant underneath the muscle reduces the risk. Massage. This should be done only on smooth implants, and by a qualified professional, who will refuse to massage bruised areas. Minimal Touch Surgery. If a foreign substance attaches itself to the implant, this can inflame tissue and cause capsular contracture. This meticulous method puts additional measures in place to minimise the chances of this happening. It involves only one surgeon ever touching the implant, and careful re-washing of surgical gloves and tools during the operation. Vitamin E. Not to be taken two weeks before and after your operation, as it can cause bleeding; but it is said to help fight the risk of capsular contracture. Capsular Contracture Treatment Antibiotics. Some surgeons simply prescribe antibiotics to treat Capsular Contracture. Zafirlukast. This is a relatively new drug usually used to treat asthma, but has been shown to reduce the incidence of early capsules. Capsulectomy. This is removal of the capsule around the breast implant. A partial capsulectomy involves making an incision in the capsule just to release the scar formation. This is more likely to result in the problem returning than removing the entire capsule with the implant. Experiencing Capsular Contracture is very distressing. It is a complication of breast augmentation surgery that you must research before deciding to have the operation. Ask your surgeon about it, and the statistics relating to his own patients. How to Help Your Teen Prepare for a Strong Financial Future (What Schools Should Teach About Credit)

Friday, September 7th, 2007

By Jeanette Joy Fisher Our college-bound son just bought his first home at 21. He was able to buy a home for forty thousand under the appraised price, get a low interest rate, finance the closing costs, and pay no money down. How could he possibly do this? His credit score is over 700. You can help your teenager prepare for his or her financial future by establishing a high credit rating. Offer your teenager these three crucial credit tips for a great financial future: 1. Start early. Begin by successfully managing a checking account– the first credit requirement. Wells Fargo Bank has a program for children to open joint accounts with a parent as young as 13 years of age. For a free individual checking account, Washington Mutual requires a minimum age of 18 or a manager’s approval for younger account holders. 2. Apply for a major credit card at 18. It’s easier to get a first-class credit card with favorable rates and terms while a student attends college before the age of 22. Why do banks want to open accounts for students who have no credit history or employment? Because lenders know that college graduates in general make more money and also pay their bills on time. Also, most consumers don’t like shopping around for credit and tend to keep their credit accounts. Therefore, lenders desire to establish strong relationships with the preferred market early in their credit experience. This doesn’t mean that you as the parent need to co-sign; banks expect parents to help out with the payments when necessary. Just be crystal clear with your child what you expect regarding debt management. The purpose is to teach responsibility and to establish credit–not to go into debt. 3. Manage the credit card account with credit scores in mind. Once the account is opened, encourage your child to use the card for necessities that would be purchased with cash–not luxuries–and to pay the debt before finance charges accrue. However, don’t pay the entire balance off each month; let a little roll over at least every two months. Banks don’t appreciate accounts paid in full each month. More important, paid accounts don’t factor into the credit score as much as an account with a low balance. Explain to you teenager that the purpose of using a credit card is to establish good credit. To do this, a credit card should never have a balance over 50% of the available credit. The best credit scores have accounts with only 10% of the credit line used. Setting up a checking account and a credit card account helps your teenager learn about responsible money management, with the bonus of building strong credit to finance a home. Business & Profits: The Importance of Clarity

Thursday, September 6th, 2007

By Christine Buske Fancy words are what some clients expect writers have stocked in their mental inventory, and in some cases they are the reason writers are hired. However, above anything else, you should be clear in your brochures, on your websites and any other medium you use to communicate to prospective customers or clients. Fancy words are best kept for literary works, or can be sparingly used in some types of commercial work. Instead, strive to be clear about your services, your goals, your mission and also your pricing structure. Keep in mind; clarity does not mean unprofessional or poor wording, it means your prospective clients understand what you are trying to tell them. This sounds like an excessively simple thing, but you would be surprised how many companies confuse the heck out of you! There are two possible scenarios if you fail in the clarity department: a) The prospective client leaves, desists, does not contact you and is never heard from the marketing dollars you spend to reach that prospective client are then obviously wasted. b) The prospective client does not leave, but contacts you to ask questions, only to discover you were not the right choice for whatever reason (perhaps you are trying to market a service, and the prospective client is looking for a product). In the first case, you wasted money, in the second case you lost time. In any event it is never a waste of time to talk to prospective clients, but only if that client is truly a prospective client and not another business prospective client. The question is whether they actually can give you business, are you what they are looking for? Even if you are doing a great job of writing your own marketing material, have your own marketing staff or cannot afford a big budget campaign, it is always a good idea to at least get some editing done on the existing material. A good copy writer will not just edit, but also offer some helpful advice/minor rewriting that can really sky rocket your response. If you are in business to make a profit, you should look at which strategies are working and which ones work for other businesses in a similar/same market. For example; if direct mail works wonders for some real estate agents in your district, but you are just spending money without seeing results then there is something wrong with either your distribution, your copy or both. If you make time to turn a profit, then you should make time to revisit strategies that could give you a better response. What better time than right now? (p.s. Ive gotten questions regarding what a good response is to a marketing strategy. The answer is: it depends. Direct mail is different from banner advertising. Basically you need to see a return on your investment, if you dont then you need to tweak it until you do see a strong ROI.) Christine Buske is a freelance Copy Writer and Business Consultant. She helps businesses and professionals achieve their marketing goals and increase conversion rates. Whether you want to entice clients with a great brochure or need a sales letter, Christine doesn’t just deliver great work, she delivers results you can take to the bank!
